Karen Hicks—Junior Kumon Instructor Karen Hicks has been with Kumon of Florence since October 2009. Before coming to Kumon, she was a teacher with the Kenton County school system. She has also previously taught in Illinois, and worked as a school psychologist in Montana. She holds certifications in Elementary Education, Special Education, and School Psychology. “Ms. Karen” works with our Junior Kumon students and enjoys her current job than anything else she had done so far. She is continually amazed to see young children making such tremendous progress and is proud to be a part of Kumon. In her free time she enjoys reading, walking, spending time with her family, and training her dog. |

Sarah Lovell — Chief Assistant Sarah joined Kumon of Florence in July 2009. She also teaches exceptional students with learning disabilities at Tichenor Middle School in Erlanger, KY. Sarah has an Alternative Certification in Special Education (May 2004) and a Master of Arts in Education (May 2005) from Northern Kentucky University. Sarah has been teaching since childhood starting with teaching her younger sister to tie her shoes. Throughout the years, she has taught children and adults in various extra-curricular activities. Her work has included assisting adults with disabilities in nursing homes and children with disabilities at Redwood Rehabilitation Center. She believes that all children can learn and Kumon is an excellent way to train your brain for math and reading success. She is the mother of two daughters, Amy 22, a Boone County High School Graduate and Lori, 15 who attends there currently. |

Arunima Kaligotla— Assistant Aruna has a Masters Degree (M.S) in English Literature and a Bachelors in Computer Sciences. She enjoys working with children and likes to do crafts in her spare time. Her daughter Eesha is an Honor Roll student in Math & Reading at Kumon of Florence. |

Kaitlin Haggard— Assistant Kaitlin is a Boone County High School Academic Team member and recently inducted into the National Honor Society. She is currently enrolled in three AP classes, as well as two Honors courses. Kaitlin enjoys reading, listening to music, videogames movies and spending time with friends. |

Rachel Johnson — Assistant Rachel is a Junior at Boone County High School (BCHS). She is an “all-A” student and a member of the varsity academic team. Recently, she became a member of National Honor Society and BCHS science club. Rachel is also a member of BCHS softball team and travels with her school team since 6th grade.
